Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.—GEORGE LEAKE, Esq., K.C., of Perth, Western Australia, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, has this day been appointed by his Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in the State of Western Australia, under the 2nd section of “The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act, 1875,” for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

NOTE.—Generally fine early part of month; showery during middle; and latter end of month fine, except on 29th, when it rained heavily, 1·03 in. being recorded on the 30th for previous twenty-four hours. Prevailing N.W. and S. winds, and moderate. Hail on 1st, 3rd, and 14th; fog on 21st. Maximum temperature in shade 59·3°, minimum 32°; mean temperature of dew-point, 38·3°; mean humidity, 71. Earthquake on 12th, at 1.52 a.m., smart.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand passed in the forty-fourth year of the reign of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, and intituled “The Marriage Act, 1880,” the following names of Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly called the Church of England.

The Reverend John Vosper.

The Pilgrims of Peace.

Percival Commins.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 6·5 poles, more or less, being part of Section 48, Block 12, on the record map of the Town of Dunedin: bounded towards the north-east, 25 ft., by Rattray Street; towards the north-west, 66 ft., by section numbered 49 of the same block; towards the south-west, 25 ft., and towards the south-east, 66 ft., by the remaining part of the said section numbered 48. The last registered owner is George Bailey, described as of Dunedin, Carpenter, who is said to have died about the year 1865. The land was lately in the occupation of Mr. Corbett, a plumber.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Dated this 11th day of September, 1901.

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 acre, more or less, being Allotment 257, Town of Hamilton West, in the Provincial District of Auckland, situate at the intersection of Selkirk and London Streets. The registered owner is Frank Pascoe, who is described as of Auckland, boardinghouse-keeper, and who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election to administer the several intestate estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.
