Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Land undulating; about one-third bush; soil fair. Distance from Waimahaka about ten miles. Section 1 is burdened with £22, valuation for improvements, consisting of hut £10, and fencing £12. Section 3 is burdened with £8, valuation for fencing.

Land inferior; low-lying and partly covered with manuka scrub; soil peaty. Situated on the south side of the Makarewa River, from thirteen to fifteen miles from Invercargill.

Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—HOKIANGA COUNTY.—OMAPERE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in Block V., Omapere Survey District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 1 of Block V., Omapere Survey District; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 1 and 3 of the same block; towards the south-west by the Ngamahanga No. 1 Block; and towards the north-west by a public road, 100 links wide, running along the bank of the Waihou River to the point of commencement.

Description of land: Open land of good quality, fronting Waihou River, and intersected by Okaihau-Victoria Valley Main Road, about eight miles from Okaihau.

Cash price, 12s. 6d. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 7·5d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 6d. per acre per annum.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and one.
