Bounded on the north by the Mangawhero Road District; on the east by the Upper Wangaehu Road District as hereinbefore described, and the Purua Road District; on the south by the Purua Road District; on the west and north-west by the Mataongaonga Road District.
I, Ernest Barns, Clerk of the Wanganui County Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the special order made by the Wanganui County Council on the 18th day of December, 1900, and subsequently confirmed on the 18th day of January, 1901, and that the said special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

Copy of a Special Order made by the Wanganui County Council at a Meeting held on the 18th Day of January, 1901, and subsequently confirmed at another Meeting held on the 8th Day of March, 1901.
THAT a special order be now made altering the boundaries of the Upper Wangaehu, Mangawhero, and Kaukatea Ridings in order to bring them into conformity with the alterations already made in the boundaries of the road districts, the boundaries being as under:—
Upper Wangaehu Riding.
The boundary commences at the junction of the Hoaripu or Oawera Stream with the Wangaehu River on Section 311, Block I., Wangaehu Survey District, and proceeds thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of said section to the south-western corner of said Section 311; thence along the southern boundary of Section 312 to its south-west corner; thence along the western boundary of the said Section 312 to the south-west corner of Kokomiko Block, Block III., Mangawhero Survey District: thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Otaika, Kaikai-Ohakune, and Te Maire Blocks to the north-west corner of the last-named; thence along the northern boundary of the said Te Maire Block to the middle of the Mangawhero River: thence northerly up the middle of the said river to a point opposite the north-west corner of Section 21, Block IX., Mangawhero Survey District: thence east along the northern boundary of said Section 21 to its north-eastern corner: thence southerly along the eastern boundary of said Section 21 to the boundary of the Wai-puna-Puharakeke Block: thence south-easterly along the boundary of the last-mentioned block to the boundary of the Heao Block at the north-western corner of Section 8, Block I., Mangawhero Survey District: thence northerly along the boundary between the Heao and Paratieke Blocks (or otherwise the western boundary of Sections 8, 7, 6, 5, Block X., and 4, 3, 2, 1, Block VII.) and the watershed between the Wangaehu and Mangawhero Rivers to Field’s Track: thence northerly along the course of Field’s Track to the Tokiahuru Stream in Block IX., Karioi Survey District; thence along the Tokiahuru Stream to the eastern boundary of the Rangiwaea Block: thence north-

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Temuka, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”

To the Hon. the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”
SIR,—In pursuance of the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, I have the honour to give you notice that at a poll of the electors (other than those enrolled upon a residential qualification) of that portion of the Borough of Temuka defined in the proposal hereinafter referred to, held in the Borough of Temuka on the 1st day of August, 1901, upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Temuka set out below, such proposal was duly carried, the votes recorded being,—
For the said proposal, 49; against the said proposal, 14; informal, 2: majority in favour of the proposal, 35.
The said proposal was as follows:—
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900”; and in the matter of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and the Acts amending the same.
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, that the Council of the Borough of Temuka proposes,—
- (a.) To draw and lead water by means of a water-race from a spring existing on Rural Section 3106, formerly occupied by Mr. George Cliff; thence the water-race will be made along a natural hollow on Rural Section 3092, the property of Mr. O. P. McCallum, up to the Main South Road; thence southwards along the said road to the Temuka Borough. The supply is to be established chiefly for the purpose of flushing the drainpipes proposed to be laid under clause (b) hereof, and also for supplying water to the fire-engine for fire-extinction purposes.
(b.) To lay 9 in. and 12 in. pipes within the Borough of Temuka for the disposal of slop and refuse matter from the houses within the boundaries hereinafter defined, and to establish a proper system of drainage.
- The said proposal for water-supply and drainage will apply only to that part of the Borough of Temuka bounded as follows: Commencing on Ewen Road, at the western boundary of Section 154; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 154, 153, 152, 151, 150, 149, 148, 147, to Wilmhurst Street; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, and along a line being a production of the said section-boundaries to the western boundary of Section 46 on High Street; thence easterly along High Street to the Cemetery Reserve; thence southerly along the western boundary of said Cemetery Reserve, thence along the southern boundary of said reserve to the western side of Main South Road; thence southerly along the Main South Road to the northern side of Sealey Street; thence easterly in line with the northern side of said street to the eastern
