Exchange of a Portion of a Reserve in Canterbury for other Land.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of July, 1901.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto was permanently set apart as a reserve for plantation purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said land for that described in the second column of the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and the third section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” doth hereby declare that the portion of the said reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto may be exchanged for the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Description of Reserve intended to be exchanged. Description of Land to be obtained in Exchange therefor.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing 13 acres 3 roods 37 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve 1760 (in red), situate in Block XIV., Rolleston Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by a road line and Rural Section 28085, 1440·8 links; on the north-east by Rural Section 28011, 1941·2 links; and on the south by Rural Section 9068, 2417·5 links: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch. All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing 13 acres 3 roods 37 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section 28085, situate in Block XIV., Rolleston Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by Reserve 1760, 1500 links; on the north-east by Rural Section 28085, 2277·6 links; and on the south-west by the Road and Railway Reserve, 1617·2 links: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch.

Consenting to closing Road through Section 31, Umutaoroa Block, Waipawa County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of July, 1901.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection one, of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county or district road to be stopped, and such road shall not be deemed to be stopped, until the consent thereto of the Governor by Order in Council gazetted is obtained:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby consent to the closing of the part of the road mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Vesting Reserves in the Pahiatua County Council.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of July, 1901.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto have been permanently reserved for the purposes stated in the said Schedule, on the dates specified therein:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that the said lands should be vested in the Pahiatua County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Pahiatua County,” in trust, as reserves for the purposes specified in the last column of the said Schedule.

Powers delegated to the Patutahi Town Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of July, 1901.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Patutahi Town Domain Board, namely,——

WILLIAM MANSON,
EDWARD JOHN HARRISON,
JOHN CHARLES WOODWARD,
JOHN THOMSON, and
THOMAS EADE

(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,——

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Saturday in each month, at seven o’clock p.m., at the Public Hall, Patutahi, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and one.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
