STATEMENT OF THE AFFAIRS OF A COMPANY.

Name of company: O'Brien's Patent Hydraulic Dredging Company.

Date of registration: 3rd November, 1900.

Where business is conducted, and name of Legal Manager: Waipori; William O'Brien, jun.

Capital: £1,000, in 1,000 shares at £1 each.

Amount of capital actually paid up in cash: £750.

Paid-up shares given to shareholder: 250; valued at £250.

Number of shares allotted: 1,000 (all paid up).

Number of shareholders at time of registration of company: 7.

Present number of shareholders: 7.

Number of men employed by company: 4 (all shareholders).

Total quantity and value of gold produced since registration: 86 oz. 5 dwt. 20 gr.; £332 4s. 2d.

Total expenditure (constructing dredge, &c.) to 30th April, 1901: £938 3s. 11d.

Wages owing by company: £104 18s.

REMARKS.—The company consists of 7 shareholders; all are directors, and 4 of same work the dredge. The company was formed principally to test O'Brien's patent for working dredges with water-power.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882”; and in the matter of the Cardrona Valley Gold-dredging Company (Limited).

At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the Agricultural Hall Buildings, Crawford Street, Dunedin, on the 10th day of May, 1901, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company, also duly convened, and held at the same place on the 31st day of May, 1901, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz.:—

“That the Cardrona Valley Gold-dredging Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of ‘The Companies Act, 1882,’ and its amendments.”

And at such last-mentioned meeting JOHN CHARLES SHORT and ALEXANDER BARTLEMAN, both of Dunedin, were appointed Liquidators for the purposes of winding up the company.

THE RECORD REIGN DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Record Reign Dredging Company (Limited), held at the registered office of the company, Athenæum Chambers, Dee Street, Invercargill, on the 28th day of June, 1901, the following resolution was passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up accordingly.”

Mr. ALEXANDER CROSS was appointed Liquidator.

Land Transfer Act Notices.

EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. xci., folio 121, comprising Lots 10 and 11, Plan 672 (part of Rural Section 188), Christchurch Survey District, whereof WILLIAM HENRY BLACK, of Christchurch, Salesman, is the registered proprietor, and of the outstanding duplicate of memorandum of mortgage No. 15908, charging the said land in favour of JOHN ROBERT CAMPBELL, WILLIAM GUISE BRITTAN, and EDWARD HORACE TEMPLER; and application having been made to me to issue a provisional certificate of title and to register a dealing affecting the said mortgage, I hereby give notice that I will issue such provisional certificate and register such dealing, dispensing with the production of the said duplicate mortgage, at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
