Regulation fixing the Fees of Members of the Surveyors' Board, and the Rate of Travelling-allowance.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Auckland, this tenth day of June, 1901.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection six of section eleven of “The New Zealand Institute of Surveyors and Board of Examiners Act, 1900” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the members of the Surveyors' Board shall receive from the revenues of the said Board such fees as the Governor in Council may determine: And it is expedient to fix the fees hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix the fees of members of the Surveyors' Board who are not members of the Civil Service of the colony at two guineas for every day's sitting on Board or committee business; and the travelling-allowance of all members of the said Board shall be one guinea per day when travelling on the business of the Board.

Closing Portion of Ohura Road, Stratford County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth day of June, 1901.

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection one, of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county or district road to be stopped, and such road shall not be deemed to be stopped, until the consent thereto of the Governor by Order in Council gazetted is obtained:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the above in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby consent to the closing of the part of the road mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, Selwyn.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of June, 1901.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Selwyn, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For preparing the rolls for ridings within the County of Selwyn: Until the 8th July, 1901.
  2. Time for which such rolls shall be open for inspection: From the 9th July, 1901, to the 31st July, 1901.
  3. Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 21st August, 1901.
  4. Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 30th September, 1901.
  5. Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: On the 1st October, 1901.

Vesting a Reserve in the Ashley Road Board.

RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of June, 1901.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was permanently set aside as a reserve for river-conservation purposes on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Ashley Road Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Inhabitants of the Ashley Road District,” in trust, as a reserve for river-conservation purposes.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing 194 acres 1 rood, more or less, being reserve numbered 3503, formerly part of Reserve No. 1921, situated in Block VI., Rangiora Survey District. Bounded on the northward by a road along the northern bank of the Ashley River, fronting Sections Nos. 2866, 2864, and 2863, to a point opposite the south-western corner of Section 1293; on the eastward by a line from the said point to the south-western corner of Reserve No. 1380; on the southward by Reserve No. 3036; and on the westward by the eastern boundary of Reserve No. 2431: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.
