Re E. Thomas and Co. (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company, duly convened, and held at Dunedin this
day, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed,
viz. :—
“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meet-
ing that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up
the same, and accordingly that the company be wound
up voluntarily.”
And at such meeting GEORGE BLYTH, of Dunedin, Account-
ant, and JAMES LOGAN, of Dunedin, Gentleman, were ap-
pointed Liquidators for the purpose of the winding-up.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND IN THE
CITY OF WELLINGTON FOR THE EXTENSION
OF ELIZABETH STREET.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of
Wellington proposes, under the provisions of “The
Public Works Act, 1894,” “The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1900,” “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897,”
and “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899,” and
every other authority enabling it in that behalf, to execute
a certain public work, to wit, the extension of Elizabeth
Street from Brougham Street to Kent Terrace, all in the
said city, such extension to be 66 ft. wide; and for the pur-
pose of such public work the land described in the Sche-
dule hereto is required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the
land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office
of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate at the corner
of Brandon Street and Featherston Street, in the said city,
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons
affected by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said land should, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing within forty days from the first
publication of this notice to the Acting Town Clerk, Wel-
lington.

WAYS COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 202 of
“The Companies Act, 1882,” that a General Meeting
of the members of the above-named company will be held in
the Board-room of the Agricultural Hall, Crawford Street,
Dunedin, on Thursday, the 15th day of August, 1901, at
3.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an
account laid before them showing the manner in which the
winding-up has been conducted and the property of the
company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that
may be given by the Liquidators, and also of determining
by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books,
accounts, and documents of the company, and of the
Liquidators thereof, shall be disposed of.
