For a site for a drill-shed and Volunteer parade-ground.
All that area in the Land District of Otago, Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement 183 acres and 11 perches, more or less, situate in Moeraki District, being Section No. 36, Block XI., on the map of the said district. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 45, 9500 links; towards the north-east by Section No. 10, 4658 links; and towards the south-east by a road-line and Section No. 18, 2528 links, also by Sections Nos. 21 and 23, 4953 links. For a public recreation-ground.
SOUTHLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 16, Block IV., Oteramika Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Section No. 9 of same block, 800 and 1250 links; towards the south-west by a road, 800 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 10 of same block and the before-mentioned Section No. 9, 1250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Invercargill. For a public-school site.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Section 4, open country, covered with fern and tea-tree; about one-fourth of area swamp, balance flat to undulating; soil fair; about two miles and a quarter from Hangatiki Railway-station and about four miles by road from Otorohanga Railway-station.
