Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land
Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that from and after the day of the date hereof the Procla-
mation of the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven, so far as it relates to the
section mentioned in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the
same is hereby revoked, and do proclaim and declare that
the said section is hereby withdrawn from the village-home-
stead special-settlement system.

Invercargill.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of “The Land Drain-
age Amendment Act, 1898” (hereinafter termed
“the said Act”), a Commissioner was appointed and an
inquiry was duly held with a view to determining what
local authority could most conveniently and efficiently
control the drain known as the “Park Drain and Outfall,”
situated in the vicinity of the Borough of Invercargill (and
hereinafter referred to as “the said drain”), and what pro-
portion of the cost of maintaining, repairing, improving,
or reconstructing the said drain should be paid by any, and,
if so, which, local authority or authorities: And whereas
such Commissioner did report to the Governor, after due
inquiry, his opinion as to the matters respecting which he
was appointed to report: And whereas it is expedient to
make provision under the said Act for the purposes and in
the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by
the said Act, and all other powers and authorities in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and direct
as follows, that is to say:—
