“THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Coromandel County Council intends to take all that parcel of land, containing 4 acres 3 roods 17 perches, being part of grant to W. B. Moore, situate in Block No. IX., Coromandel Survey District, Auckland Land District, and being the land shown on Plan No. 12021, and coloured purple thereon, for the purpose of a road; and that a plan of such land, duly certified, is open for inspection at the County Office, Coromandel, during all reasonable hours.

All persons affected must set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said Council.

In the matter of “The Private Estates Bills Act, 1867;” and in the matter of a proposed Bill intituled “An Act enabling the Trustees for the Time Being of the Will of the late Honourable William Barnard Rhodes, deceased, to grant Leases of or to sell certain Lands situate in the Provincial District of Wellington, and subject to the Trusts of the said Will.”

PURSUANT to the provisions of the said Act and of the Standing Orders of the Legislative Council relating to private Bills, we, SARAH ANNE RHODES, of Wadestown, near Wellington City, Widow; JOHN STUDHOLME, of Christchurch, Gentleman; JOHN DUNCAN, of Wellington City, Merchant, Trustees of the will of the said late Honourable William Barnard Rhodes, deceased, which is registered in Wellington as Number 36774; and MARY ANN MOORHOUSE, wife of Edward Moorhouse, of Spratton Grange, Northampton, in England, Gentleman, the intending petitioners, hereby give notice that, within fourteen days of the meeting of the General Assembly of New Zealand to be held next after the date of this notice, a petition will be presented to the said General Assembly of New Zealand through the Speaker and members of the Legislative Council, by us, praying leave to bring in a private Bill to be called “The Rhodes Trust Act, 1901.” The objects of the said Bill are to enable and direct the trustees for the time being of and under the said will to grant leases of or to sell certain lands in the Provincial District of Wellington, subject to the trusts of the said will.

A copy of the said petition and Bill will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders within fourteen days after the commencement of the said session.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned JOHN AITKEN and JOHN EDWARD BROAD, carrying on business at Gore as Saddlers and Harnessmakers, under the style or firm of “Aitken and Broad,” has been dissolved as from the 1st day of April, 1901. The business will be carried on by Mr. J. E. Broad, who will discharge all the liabilities of the late firm. All debts owing to the late firm are payable to Mr. J. B. Nichol, Solicitor, Gore, whose receipt will be a sufficient discharge for the same.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

LAND REQUIRED FOR GRAVEL-PIT.

PURSUANT to the provision of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” it is hereby notified that the Horowhenua County Council require the land described hereunder for the purpose of a gravel-pit. A plan, marked A, showing position of same, will be open for public inspection at the County Office, Levin, during office hours, for a period of forty days from date hereof. All persons affected by the taking of the land are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections thereto, and to serve the same upon the County Clerk at Levin before the expiration of forty days from date hereof.

Description of Land.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, situated in Block II., Waiopehu Survey District, being part of A No. 3, Horowhenua Block. Bounded as follows: Starting at a point 905·5 links south-west from where northern boundary of A No. 3, eastern side of County Road, and running in a south-easterly direction 600 links, by other part of A No. 3; thence in a south-westerly direction, 500 links, by other part of A No. 3; thence in a north-westerly direction, 600 links, by other part of A No. 3; thence in a north-easterly direction, 500 links, by County Road to starting-point: as the same is delineated on plan marked A and coloured red, now on view for a period of forty days from this date, at the County Office, Levin aforesaid.

Name of owner: Makere te Rangimairehau.
