Special Order made by the Papatoitoi Road Board, County of Manukau, making a By-law.

THE following special order, made by the Papatoitoi Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

By-law made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Public Works Act, 1894.”

By-law.—No person shall use any metalled or scoria road in the Papatoitoi Road District by the traction thereon of any vehicle, engine, or machine which shall itself, or together with the thing or things transported thereon, weigh more than 1½ tons avoirdupois to each pair of wheels, or which shall be drawn by more than two horses, unless such wheels have tires of not less than 4½ in. wide.

Any person committing a breach of the above by-law shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5.

The above by-law was duly made by special order at a re-adjoined meeting of the Papatoitoi Road Board, held at the railway-station on Wednesday, 13th February, 1901.

MANGOREI ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

THAT the Board do hereby declare, under section 4 of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” that gorse (Ulex europæus) and ragwort, or ragweed (Senecio jacobæus), being plants mentioned in the Second Schedule of the said Act, are noxious weeds in the Mangorei Road District within the Board’s jurisdiction.

I certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Waiuku Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE WAIUKU ROAD BOARD, MANUKAU COUNTY.

THAT, to secure the payment and other charges on a loan of £1,800, to be raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of metalling portions of the Main Waiuku–Pukekohe Mail-coach Road, the Main Waiuku–Drury Road, the Village–Cemetery–Swamp Road, and Abram’s Gully–Aka Aka Road, a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound be struck and levied upon the present capital value of all the rateable properties in the Waiuku Road District, Crown and Native land (if any) excepted; such rate to be an annually recurring one for forty-one years, and to be payable in two half-yearly instalments on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year during the currency of the loan.

I hereby certify that the above special order was made by the Waiuku Road Board on the 20th October, 1900, and confirmed on the 19th November, 1900, and that it is in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Manawatu Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MANAWATU ROAD BOARD.

SPECIAL order (made 10th December, 1900; confirmed 14th January, 1901) for the payment of interest on loan of £300, at 4½ per cent., for twenty-six years, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and the respective amendments, to clear, form, and metal Cameron’s Line from the north-east boundary of Section No. 1d, Block 2, Kairanga, to the Bunnythorpe–Feilding Railway Road: That a special rate of ¾d. in the pound for twenty-six years be made on the rateable values of the following properties — viz., part Section 4b, Block 1, Kairanga, containing 60 acres, in the occupation of J. Saunders; part of the said Section 4b, containing 80 acres, in the occupation of Mary Hughey; Sections 4, 3b, Block 1, Kairanga; Section 1d; Lots 15, 17, 18, 19, of Section 5c; Lot 20, part of 3d and 3e, Lots 21 and 22 of 3f, Block 2, Kairanga; Sections 8 and 3c, Taonui; Sections 41, 4a, No. 2b, 40, and 4aa, Upper Aorangi; and the whole of Section 7, Block 1, Aorangi. Such rate to be an annually recurring one for twenty-six years, and payable by equal instalments on the 1st days of February and August in each year, at the Board’s office, Palmerston North. Cost of raising loan to be paid out of loan.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and confirmed by the Manawatu Road Board, in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and amendments.

Special Order made by the Upper Ashburton Road Board, County of Ashburton.

THE following special order, made by the Upper Ashburton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD.

RESOLVED, That, in compliance with the special order made in that behalf by the Ashburton County Council, acting in its capacity as the River Board of the Ashburton Forks River District, and for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund upon the principal sum of £900, being the outstanding balance of a loan of £1,000 borrowed by the said Council, acting in the capacity aforesaid, from the New Zealand Government Life Insurance Department, the Upper Ashburton Road Board doth now make and levy a special rate of ¾d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable values of all rateable properties within the Ashburton Forks River District, which said rate shall be payable by two equal instalments on the 15th day of March and the 15th day of September, 1901, and annually recurring upon the same days year by year thereafter until the said loan is paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order has this day been duly passed by the Upper Ashburton Road Board.
