purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor
may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and
in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the
same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, de-
clare my intention to change the specific purpose of the
portion of the reserve described in the second column of the
Schedule hereto from a site for a Customhouse and post-
office to a site for a drillshed.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion which it is intended to change.
Section No. 374, Town of Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing 1 acre 1 rood 13 perches. Reserved for a Customhouse and post - office. Gazette No. 1, 1872, page 8. All that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being portion of Section No. 374, Town of Gisborne, containing by ad-measurement 19 perches, more or less, commencing at a point on the south - east side of Customhouse Street 282·2 links from the junction of that street and Gladstone Road. Bounded towards the north-west by Customhouse Street, 61 links; towards the south-west by other part of Section No. 374, 205·6 links; towards the south - east by Read’s Quay, 63·1 links; and towards the north-east by other part of Section No. 374, 187·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of December, one thou-
sand nine hundred.

Limits of the Port of Westport defined.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the ninth section of “The Harbours
Act, 1878,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
any instrument now in force defining the limits of the har-
bour known as the Port of Westport, so far as such instru-
ment defines such limits, but not further or otherwise; and
do hereby define the limits of the harbour known as the
Port of Westport to be those set out and described in the
Schedule hereto.

And I do also order and direct that this instrument shall
take effect on and after the first day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and one.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area covered by the sea, and by the tidal water of
the same, lying within the circumference of a circle having
a radius of two nautical miles from a point in the Borough
of Westport, the said point being the intersection of the
northern side of Wakefield Street with the eastern side
of Palmerston Street; the above-mentioned area also in-
cluding all that part of the Buller River Valley from its
mouth upwards as far as the prolongation in a south-
westerly direction of one of the western boundaries of the
Buller Coalfield Reserve, which lies between flood high-
water mark on the right and left banks respectively of the
said Buller River; including also all that area of land taken
for the purposes of the Buller Relief Channel by Proclama-
tion dated the 13th December, 1881, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 106, of 15th December, 1881, and
also all piers, wharves, breakwaters, training-walls, and all
other works pertaining thereto and connected therewith,
which have already been constructed by the Westport Har-
bour Board: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
M.D. 2296A, deposited in the office of the Marine Depart-
ment at Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eighth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and one.

Rural Lands in the Westland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby
declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after
the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the lands mentioned in the said
Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of pur-
chase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or
valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be
sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold,
occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
