thence along a line across the same to a point due north of the north-eastern corner of Section No. 5 aforesaid; thence along the northern bank of Big River to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 2, Block VIII., and along the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 2, Block VIII., and 6, 27, and 26, Block VII., to the north-western corner of the last mentioned section; thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of Section No. 25 to the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 16, Block VII.; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 16, 20, 22 and 24, Block VII., and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 24 and 7, Block VII., to the bank of the Little Grey River; thence along the eastern bank of the said river to Slab Hut Creek; thence along the southern bank of that creek to Section No. 5, Square 126, Block IV., Mawheraiti Survey District, and along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the said section to the road leading from Reef ton to Greymouth; thence by that road to the road between Section No. 3, Block XIII., Reef ton Survey District, and Section No. 155, Square 131, Block XIII.; thence by the latter road to the northern corner of Section No. 25, Block XIII.; thence by a line to the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold and leasehold sections and reserves.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing 49,400 acres, more or less, bounded towards the north-east by the Ahaura River from the eastern corner of Section No. 71, Block IV., Mawheranui Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Block V., Ahaura Survey District: thence towards the east generally by the eastern boundary of the said Block V. to the south-eastern corner of that block; thence by the northern boundary of Block X. for a distance of two miles; thence by a right line running due south to Lake Hochstetter; thence by that lake to Nelson Creek; thence by Nelson Creek to its intersection by the southern boundary of Block VIII., Mawheranui Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of that block to a point one mile and a quarter east from its south-western corner; thence by a right line to a point on another right line connecting Trig. Stations LH (Ahaura) and AR (Mawheranui), distant 2 miles 53 chains south-west from the former trig. station; thence by a right line to Trig. Station AR aforesaid: thence towards the south-west by a right line to a point on the southern boundary-line of Block X., Mawheranui Survey District, distant one mile and a half from its south-eastern corner; thence by the southern boundary-line of Block X. to the River Arnold; thence by that river to the south-western corner of Section No. 107, Block X., Mawheranui Survey District: thence towards the north-west generally by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the said Section No. 107, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section No. 100, Block X., to the Greymouth-Reefton Road; thence by that road to the western corner of Section No. 12, Block X.; thence by the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of that section and road reserve, the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 13, 105A, and 105, Block X., and the production of the southern boundary of Section No. 105 to Twelve-mile Creek; thence by that creek to the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 104; thence by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that section to the Greymouth-Reefton Road; thence by that road to Trig. Station C (Mawheranui), and by the road up Nelson Creek to the western boundary of Section No. 6, Block VII., Mawheranui Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 5 and 6, Block VII., to Nelson Creek; thence by that creek to the eastern boundary of Section No. 27, Block VII.; thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of that section, and the northern boundary of Section No. 54, Square 123, and along a road forming the northern boundary of Sections Nos. 54 and 55, Square 123, to its junction with the Greymouth-Reefton Road; thence along the said road to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 39, Square 123; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that section, and the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32, Block IV., Mawheranui Survey District, to the easternmost corner thereof; thence along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 80, Block IV., Mawheranui Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 80, 78, 76, 74, and 73, Block IV., Mawheranui Survey District, to the easternmost corner of the latter section; thence along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 71, the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold lands, leasehold lands, and reserves.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing 32,500 acres, more or less, bounded towards the north by a right line from Trig. Station K (Waiwhero) to the north-eastern corner of Block II., Mawheranui Survey District: thence towards the west by the eastern boundary of Block XIV., Waiwhero Survey District, to a point half a mile south of its north-eastern corner: thence again towards the north by a right line running due east to the eastern boundary of Block XV.: thence again towards the west by the eastern boundaries of Blocks XV., XI., and VII., Waiwhero Survey District, to a point due east of Trig. Station O: thence again towards the north by a right line running due east to Slaten, on Big River: thence towards the east by that river to the Grey River: thence towards the south-east by Grey River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section No. 8, Block IX., Mawheranui Survey District: thence towards the west generally by a right line to and by the western boundary of the said Section No. 8 to its north-western corner; thence by a right line to Trig. Station SP; thence by a right line to Trig. Station G; and thence by a right line to Trig. Station K, the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold lands, leasehold lands, and reserves.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing 34,000 acres, more or less, bounded towards the north-east by the Punakaiki River and its left hand branch from the sea to the eastern boundary of Block II., Waiwhero Survey District: thence towards the east generally by the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Block II. to a point due north of Trig. Station N (Waiwhero); thence by a right line running through that trig. station to a point due west of Trig. Station O; thence by a right line to the said Trig. Station O; thence by the summit of the Paparoa Range to Trig. Station K (Waiwhero); thence towards the south by a right line running between that trig. station and Trig. Station H (Cobden) to the eastern boundary of the Grey Coalfield Reserve; thence by that reserve to the sea; and towards the west by the sea to the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold and leasehold lands and reserves.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, situated in Cobden Survey District, containing 3,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern bank of the River Grey, being the northern end of the Cobden Bridge, and proceeding along the said river to its mouth: thence northerly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Seven-mile Creek; thence along the nearest leading spur to the summit of the Rapahoe Range: thence southerly along that range to the point of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold and leasehold sections and reserves.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing 13,000 acres, more or less, bounded towards the north-east by the Borough of Greymouth from the sea to the Milton Road: towards the east by the said Milton Road to the southern boundary of Section No. 1875: thence towards the north by Sections Nos. 1875 and 1544: towards the east by Section No. 1513 to Saltwater Creek: again towards the north by said Saltwater Creek and Section No. 1510 to its easternmost corner: thence generally towards the west by said Section No. 1510 and Sections Nos. 1551, 1863, 1550, 1546, 1512, 1508, Sawyers’ Creek Road, Sections Nos. 1466, 1369, and the Town Belt east of the Borough of Greymouth to Native Reserve No. 31; and thence by said Native reserve to Trig. Station AW, Arnold Survey District: thence towards the east by a line bearing due south from Trig. Station AW, Arnold Survey District, a distance of about 666 chains: towards the south by a line due west to the Teremakau River, and by the said Teremakau River and Section No. 7497 to the sea-coast: thence towards the north-west by the sea-coast to the place of commencement: exclusive of sold land and reserves.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing 10,000 acres, more or less, comprising the Stillwater, Maori Gully, Upper New River, and Maori Creek Gold-diggings. Bounded by a line commencing at a point bearing 75° 7′, and distant from Trig. Station AD 32 chains; thence extending westerly, at a bearing of 255° 7′, through Trig. Station AD aforesaid a distance of 300 chains; thence southerly by a line at right angles with the last-mentioned line for a distance of 200 chains; thence easterly by a line at right angles with the last-mentioned line for a distance of 300 chains; thence northerly at a right angle a distance of 100 chains; thence easterly at a right angle a distance of 100 chains; thence northerly at a right angle to the southern boundary of Coal Reserve No. 274 (in red); thence westerly along the boundary of said Reserve No. 274; and thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Section No. 1599 and a line parallel to the eastern boundary last mentioned: exclusive of sold lands and reserves.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing 1,700 acres, more or less, situated in Hohonu Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the Arnold Survey District; towards the east by the Arnold River and by the road forming the western boundary of the Greymouth Borough Endowment; towards the south-east by a right line bearing south 60° west from the south-west corner of the said Greymouth Borough Endowment, and to the western watershed of the River Arnold; and towards the south-west by the said western watershed of the Arnold River to the
