NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed under “The Urewera District Native Reserve Act, 1896,” will sit at Ruatoki, on Monday, the 13th day of January, 1902, to inquire as to what people are entitled to lands within the boundaries described in “The Urewera District Native Reserve Act, 1896,” and “The Urewera District Native Reserve Act Amendment Act, 1900.”

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered

under the said Act, the value of the said land being less than £100.

All that parcel of land, containing 37 acres, more or less, being north-western portion of Allotment 152, Parish of Makarau, in the Provincial District of Auckland.


Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 10 acres, more or less, being Allotment 7 of Section 5 in the Parish of Waipipi and Provincial District of Auckland. The grantee is Andrew Burns, who is described as of Shortland, miner, who never uplifted his title, and cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
