IN accordance with the provisions of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” I, J. Fleming Douglas, Chairman of the Waimate County Council, hereby give public notice that the result of the poll taken on the 1st day of November, 1900, on the following proposal—viz., That “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” be adopted in the Waimate County, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof—is as follows:—

Votes for proposal .. .. .. 368
Votes against proposal.. .. .. 162

Majority .. .. .. 206

I therefore hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned (carrying on business as Livery-stable Proprietors, at Te Aroha, under the name of “Smardon Bros.”) has been dissolved by mutual consent, as from the 12th day of November, 1900. All moneys owing to and by the late firm will be received and discharged by the undersigned Arthur Francis Thomas, who will henceforth continue to carry on the said business on his own account.
