SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT this Board do by special order adopt the Local Bodies’ Loans Act of 1886 and its amendments generally, the said special order to take effect immediately upon being gazetted.

I hereby certify the above special order was made as by law required on 11th August, 1900, and confirmed on 10th September, 1900.

THE following special orders, made by the Waimate Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.

Special Order re Proposed Loan of £550 for the Opunake Road.

THAT, to secure repayment of a loan of £550 and interest thereon, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of forming, ditching, culverting, gravelling, and metalling the Opunake Road from the Kiri Road eastwards to a point 2 chains east of the Punehu Stream, a special annual-recurring rate of 3½d. in the pound be made and levied for a period of forty-one years over the Opunake Road Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections: viz., the whole of Section 1, the southern portion of Section 2 (50 acres), the northern portion of Section 9 (160 acres 1 rood 20 perches), the northern portion of Section 10 (49 acres 3 roods), of Block IX., Kaupokonui Survey District; the northern portions of Sections 51 and 52 (38 acres 1 rood 35·5 perches), the whole of Section 72, the northern portion of Section 74 (35 acres 3 roods 13·5 perches), and the northern portion of Section 75 (58 acres 3 roods 25 perches), of Block XI., Opunake Survey District. Such rate to be payable, if required, in one instalment on the 1st day of January in each year of the aforesaid period.

In the matter of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and in the matter of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899.”

That the under-mentioned now-existing loans, raised by the Board under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and amendments thereof, be re-adjusted under subsection (1) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” so that interest thereon for the unexpired residue of the term in the aforesaid subsection set forth shall be paid at the reduced rate of £4½ per centum per annum, commencing as in the said Act is provided: viz., Skeet Road loan, £650; Finnerty Road loan, £530; Mangawhero Road loan, £300; Rowan Road loan, £400; Auroa Road loan, £900; Kiri Road loan, £1,000; Mangawhero Road loan, £1,100; Oeo Road loan, £700; Watino Road loan, £400; Oeo Road loan, £850; Watino Road loan, £300; Manaia Road loan, £450; Opunake Road loan, £350; Rowan Road loan, £500; Central Subdivision loan, £8,300.

THE following special orders, made by the Waiwakaiho Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDERS MADE BY THE WAIWAKAIHO ROAD BOARD.

  1. THAT, for the purpose of providing the interest and other annual charges on a loan of £400 for grading, forming, and metalling on the Kent Road, from the Korito Road southward, authorised to be raised by the said Board under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the Board does hereby make and levy a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised in the Upper Kent Road Special Rating District, which is hereby constituted to include the following lands—viz., Section 107, Block II., Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 105, 106, 108, 126, 127, 128, and 131, Block VI., all in the Egmont Survey District; such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum at the office of the Board on the 1st day of September in each year.

  2. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other annual charges on a loan of £200 for grading, forming, and metalling on the Albert Road from the Hill Road southward, authorised to be raised by the said Board under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the Board does hereby make and levy a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property comprised in the Upper Albert Road Special Rating District, which is hereby constituted to include the following lands—viz., Sections 80, 79 (in two parts), and part 81 (containing 24 acres), Block III., Sections 93, 94, 109, and 110, Block II., and Sections 111 and 125, Block VI., all in the Egmont Survey District; such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum at the office of the Board on the 1st day of September of each year.

  3. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other annual charges on a loan of £300 for rebuilding the bridge over the Mangawarawara River, on the Hill Road, and for grading, forming, and metalling on the Hill and Maude Roads from the Albert Road southward, authorised to be raised by the said Board under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the Board does hereby make and levy a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised in the Hill Road Special Rating District, which is hereby constituted to include the following lands—viz., Sections 82, 83, 89, 90, 91, 92, 113, and part of 163, Block III., Sections 112, 124, 129, and 130, Block VI., Sections 121, 122, 123, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, and the other part of 163, Block VII., all in the Egmont Survey District; such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum at the office of the Board on the 1st day of September of each year.

I hereby certify that the above three special orders were duly proposed on the 10th August, 1900, and made and passed by the Waiwakaiho Road Board on the 11th day of September, 1900, in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”
