Vesting Gravel Reserves in the Pohangina County Council.

RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of September, 1900.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were set aside permanently as gravel reserves on the dates specified therein:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that the said lands should be vested in the Pohangina County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Pohangina County,” in trust, as reserves for gravel.

Native Land proposed to be taken for a Road in Waikohu Survey District.

RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of August, 1900.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, the construction of a road through part of Okahuatiu 1a Block, Waikohu Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land by the Ngatapa Road Board, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said road, and the said land shall vest in the Ngatapa Road Board, as from the eighteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred.

Rural Land in the Canterbury Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

These sections are situated in the Westerfield Village Settlement, about four miles in a south-westerly direction from the Westerfield Railway-station, on the Mount Somers branch line of railway, and comprise open level land of light quality. The land is weighted with a sum of £31 12s., being valuation of hut, and boundary and subdivision fencing, which sum must be paid at the time of selection in addition to the usual deposit and fees.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred.
