UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Dunedin.

Pursuant to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, Thomas Bolster Fairbairn, of Dunedin, Town Clerk, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 11th July, 1900; No. 18163.

Address for service: Town Hall, Dunedin.

Dated at Dunedin, this 10th day of July, 1900.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Race traverses Sections 2 and 3, Block XI., Mount Hyde; Section 2, Block XVI., Maungatua; and Section 31, Block VII., Maungatua (bush reserve), and commences on the Lee Stream where crossed by the west boundary of Block VI., Mount Hyde District, terminating at the Taieri River, on the south side of the confluence of the Lee Stream with the Taieri River, in said Section 31.

Length and intended course of race: Five miles in length, along south side of Lee Stream Gorge.

Estimated time and cost of construction: 18 months; £8,580.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Generating electricity for transmission of power and electric lighting.

Points of intake: Lee Stream, at crossing of Western Block, boundary of Block VI., Mount Hyde District, and at Stone Hut Creek.

Mean depth and breadth: 5 ft. by 3½ ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: 30.

Proposed term of license: 42 years.

Locality of dam: Across the Taieri River, between Section 10, Block XI., Mount Hyde District, and Section 17, Block XVI., Maungatua District.

Particulars of dam: Length of dam-wall, 160 ft.; greatest height of same, 30 ft. above ordinary river-level; breadth of same at base, 30 ft.; length and width of water-area—Length three miles, average width 5 chains.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Two years; £10,000.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Purpose for which water is to be stored: Generating electricity for transmission of power and electric lighting.

ADAMS FLAT GOLD-DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE OF INCREASE OF CAPITAL.

I, THE undersigned Manager, hereby give notice that an increase in the capital of the above-named company was, on the 30th day of July, 1900, resolved on. The mode adopted for the increase is by issuing 1,300 new shares of £1 each, in addition to the 2,700 shares now existing in the company.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and its amendments, and of the Macrae’s Flat Gold-dredging Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 202 of “The Companies Act, 1882,” that a General Meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held on the 14th day of November, 1900, at 3 o’clock p.m., at my office in Lower Rattray Street, Dunedin, in order that there may be laid before the said company an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of, and in order that the said company may hear any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also in order that an extraordinary resolution may be passed for determining the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the said company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

THE GOLDEN ROXBURGH DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Golden Roxburgh Dredging Company (Limited), held at the Board Room of the Agricultural Hall, Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the following extraordinary resolution was carried:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and accordingly that it is advisable to wind up the company voluntarily, and that Mr. R. T. Wheeler, jun., be appointed Liquidator.”

BENGER BURN GOLD-DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the Benger Burn Gold-dredging Company (Limited), duly held on the 12th day of June, 1900, at Miller’s Flat, a resolution, “That the company be forthwith wound up voluntarily,” was passed unanimously; and such resolution was unanimously confirmed and carried as a special resolution at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the company duly convened for the purpose, and held at Miller’s Flat aforesaid on the 27th day of June, 1900.
