Notice to Mariners No. 37 of 1900.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the
Marine Board, Port Adelaide, South Australia, is
published for general information.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.—WESTERN APPROACH TO SPENCER GULF.—
LIGUANEA ISLAND.
NOTICE is hereby given that the master of the ketch “Sea
Flower” reports having observed a heavy break S.S.W.
from Liguanea Island (approximate latitude 35° 13' S.,
longitude 135° 30' E.).
There was a heavy ground-swell at the time, and the
break occurred every five or six minutes.
The danger above referred to is in the track of vessels
trading between South Australia and Western Australia,
and until a further examination of the locality can be made
a careful lookout should be kept by masters of vessels in the
vicinity.
This affects Admiralty Chart No. 1061.

NOTE.—On the whole a showery month, although total
rainfall below average; the maximum fall recorded on
10th—0·60 in.; prevailing winds from S., and frequently cold
and frosty; fogs occurred on eight days; thunder on 30th.
Maximum temperature in shade 61·5°, minimum 36°; mean
temperature of dew-point, 40·7°; mean humidity, 73.

"THE WEST COAST SETTLEMENT
RESERVES ACT, 1892."

NOTICE to NATIVE OWNERS and LESSEE of a
MEETING to be held at the WAITOTARA-MOMO-
HAKI ROAD BOARD OFFICE, WAITOTARA, at 10
o'clock a.m. on Friday, the 10th August, 1900,
to fix the Rent for a NEW LEASE to TEMPLE
FRERE of Section 419, Okutuku, Wairoa Survey
District, in the Provincial District of TARA-
NAKI, containing 505 acres 3 roods 29 perches
(more or less), being Land comprised in con-
firmed Lease No. 20.

TO Tahua, Mere Katua, Te Ringa Heta, Moko-
kore Matanginui, Turua Matanginui (trustee,
Mere Katua), Te Rapa Matang nui (trustee,
Mere Katua), Patumoana Uruteangina, Wiremu
Kanika, Taiei Rahui, Eruera te Aika, Te Wiri-
hana Pakira, Miriama te Atamarama, Te Kura
Tawhiti, Puakotiri, Ruihi Pakinga (trustee, Pua-
kotiri), Waitotoria Kiae, Piripi Pauro, Rotohiko
Rerepare, Wi Pauro, Wiki te Hukingahua, Nga-
ramo te Rawaho, Hana te Ikatere, Piripa Tuta-
wha, Wi Pauro Tu a wha, Hoani Hakaraia te
Uawri, Rawinia te Uawiri, Toia te Uawiri, Hau-
rangi te Uawiri, Te Tua Uawiri (trustee, Hoani
Hakaraia te Uawiri), Te Uranga Kaiwhare, and
the other Native owners of all that piece of land
situate in the Provincial District of Taranaki,
being Section 419, Okutuku, Wairoa Survey Dis-
trict, and containing by admeasurement 505 acres
3 roods 29 perches (more or less), being the land
comprised in confirmed lease No. 20, aud to
Temple Frere, of Waverley.

Whereas the above-named Temple Frere
has given notice to me, under the provisions of
section 8 of "The West Coast Settlement Re-
serves Act, 1892," that he desires to obtain under
that section a new lease of the land above de-
scribed; and I consider his application ought to
be given effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby
appoint a meeting to take place between the
said Temple Frere and all the Native owners
of the above-described land for the purpose of
fixing the rent to be paid for the said land for
the first twenty-one years of the new lease; and
I fix the Waitotara-Momohaki Road Board Office,
at Waitotara, as the place where, and Friday the
10th day of August, 1900, at 10 o'clock in the fore-
noon, as the time when, such meeting shall take
place.

seed are available for sale to farmers at 4s. per bushel
(bags extra 6d.), f.o.b. train, Waihao Downs, South Island,
or Waverley, North Island.
Orders will be received by the Inspector of Stock; Auckland, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin,
Invercargill, or the Department of Agriculture, Wellington.
The following classification is according to South Island
results:

Bonus on Mineral Oil produced from Shale obtained in New
Zealand.—Extension of Time.

THE time for notifying intention to claim the under-
mentioned bonus, and for making such claim, has
been extended as follows:—
Notice of intention to claim the bonus must be given in
writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st
December, 1900.
The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1901.
