Land set apart as a Site for a Native Township in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the third section of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcels of Native land situated in the Auckland Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby set apart as a site for a Native township; and I do hereby assign the name of “Parawai” to such Native township.

SCHEDULE.

PARAWAI TOWNSHIP.

ALL those areas in the Auckland Land District, situate in Block II., Albatross Survey District, and Blocks IX. and XIII., Kawhia North Survey District, being portions of the Taharoa A Block, and containing by admeasurement 360 acres, 49 acres, and 76 acres respectively, more or less, and bounded as follows :—

Portion containing 360 acres: Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Kawhia Harbour; towards the south-west by part of a line drawn from peg XLIII. to peg III. of the survey of Taharoa A, and the production of said line to the coast, 1950 links; and towards the north-west by Tasman Sea to the point of commencement.

Portion containing 49 acres: Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Kawhia Harbour; and towards the south-west by part of a line drawn from peg XLIII. to peg III. of the survey of Taharoa A, 4120 links, to the point of commencement.

Portion containing 76 acres: Bounded towards the east generally by Kawhia Harbour; towards the south by a line drawn from peg XXXII. to peg XLIII. of the survey of Taharoa A, 2420 links; and towards the north-west generally by Kawhia Harbour to the point of commencement.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred.

Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Catlin’s-Seaward Bush Railway—namely, from Owaka to Section 20, Block VIII., Catlin’s Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS a portion of the Catlin’s-Seaward Bush Railway—namely, from Owaka to Section 20, Block VIII., Catlin’s Survey District (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1899”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the western boundary of Section No. 3, Block VIII., Glenomaru Survey District, and distant about 2200 links from the south-western corner thereof, the said point being the termination of a portion of the railway as described in a Proclamation dated the 17th day of November, 1894, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 83, of the 22nd day of November, 1894; proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction for a distance of about 3 miles 50 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Sections Nos. 4, 18, 41, 50, 37 (Education Reserve), 101, 100, 102, 103, 104, 105, 107 (Education Reserve), 97, 96, 95, and 93, in the said Block VIII., Glenomaru Survey District; Section No. 22, Block VIII., Catlin’s Survey District—and terminating at a point on the western boundary of said Section No. 22 distant about 8 chains from the south-western corner thereof; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Otago: as the same is shown by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 18949, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred.

WHEREAS the Orepuki–Waiau Railway—namely, from Orepuki Railway-station to a point on the left bank of the Waiau River near the north-west corner of the Longwood Survey District (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1899”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same, namely, the Waimeamea Section:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Block II., Longwood Survey District, distant about 18 chains in a south-westerly direction from Trig. Station A, the said point being also the termination of the Riverton–Orepuki Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 17th day of May, 1882, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46, of the 18th day of May, 1882; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 4 miles 45 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Sections Nos. 96, 94, and 95, Block II., Longwood Survey District; Sections Nos. 32, 31, 29, 37, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 4, and 5, Block I., Longwood Survey District; and terminating at a point on the western boundary of said Section No. 5, Block I., distant about 34½ chains from the north-western corner thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, roads, reserves, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Southland: as the same is shown by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 18934, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
