the Avon Road Board by the General Government of New Zealand, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ and their amendments, for the purposes expressed in a ‘proposal to raise a loan,’ which was, on the 11th day of May, 1900, duly submitted to the ratepayers in respect of the properties situated in the special rating district which was described and defined in the Schedule to the said proposal, and which is described and defined in the Schedule hereunder written, and which proposal was, on the said last-mentioned date, duly carried, a special rate of 1s. in the pound sterling of the amount of the aggregate annual rateable values of the said properties of such ratepayers be made and levied in the manner provided by the said ‘Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Rating Act, 1894,’ and its amendments.

“2. That such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and shall be levied for a period of twenty-six years, or until the said loan shall have been fully repaid, and shall be made and levied under the provisions of ‘The Rating Act, 1894,’ and shall be payable half-yearly, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year.

“The Schedule above referred to.

“All that parcel of land in the Avon Road District bounded on the north-east by the south-west side of the Papanui Road: on the south-east by Norman’s Road from its junction with the Papanui Road to its junction with the Nursery Road: on the south-west by the north-east side of Nursery Road to its junction with Hawthorne Road; thence by a line running south-westerly along the north-west side of Hawthorne Road for a distance of 350·5 links; thence at right angles north-west for 568·5 links; thence at right angles south-west 701 links; thence at right angles north-west 213·3 links; and thence at right angles to the eastern boundary of the Northern Railway; and thence along the said eastern boundary of the Northern Railway to its junction with the Harewood Road; thence along the Harewood Road to its junction with the North Road; thence along the south-east side of the North Road to its junction with Green’s Road; thence along the south-west side of Green’s Road for a distance of 1291 links; thence at an angle south-west for a distance of 1373 links to a point on drain 1287 links from the North Road; thence along the said drain to the south-east boundary of Allotment 18 of Rural Section 304; thence south-west along the south-east boundaries of Allotments 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, and 9 to Lothhouse Street; thence along the south-west side of Lothhouse Street to the south-east corner of Allotment 35; thence along the south-east and south-west boundaries of said Allotment 35 to the south-east boundary of Allotment 43; thence along the south-east boundaries of Allotments 43, 41, 40, and 3 to the south-west side of the Papanui Road aforesaid.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been duly passed by the Avon Road Board as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

No. 3. An Act to amend “The Napier Harbour Board Amendment and Endowment Improvement Act, 1887,” and “The Napier Harbour Board Amendment and Further Empowering Act, 1889,” and to give Further Powers to the Napier Harbour Board to deal with the Lands described in the said Acts.

No. 4. An Act for enabling the Trustees of the Invercargill Garrison Hall to borrow Moneys for the Purpose of paying off Loans or Mortgages now or hereafter subsisting on the Whole or any Part of the Lands vested in the said Trustees, or the Rents, Issues, and Profits thereof, and to execute Mortgages for securing Payment of the Moneys so borrowed and Interest thereon.

No. 5. An Act to empower the Borough of Port Chalmers to borrow Five Thousand Pounds.

No. 6. An Act to amend and extend to other Building Land than is therein described the Powers contained in “The University of Otago Leases and Securities Act, 1898.”

No. 7. An Act to alter the Time of Election and to make Further Provision in respect of the Exercise of the Functions of the Timaru Harbour Board.

No. 8. An Act to extend the Powers of the Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association in respect of a certain Piece of Land situate in the Town of Gore.
