railway-line from Wellington to Woodville, the distance
from Wellington being about eighty-seven miles.

Section 78, Block XIV., Mangaone: The section is situated
between the main road and the railway-line, close to the
Hastwell Village Settlement. The access is from district
road, which is about two miles distant from the Manga-
mahoe Railway-station. The soil is of indifferent quality,
resting on papa formation. The section is not watered, and
the elevation ranges from 700 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level.

Notifying Land in Marlborough for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of
Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint Monday, the ninth day of July, one thou-
sand nine hundred, as the time at which the land enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and
I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be
sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—WAKAMARINA SURVEY DISTRICT.

About 6 acres bush, principally birch and rimu, with mixed
underscrub; rough stony faces; well watered; only suitable
for pastoral purposes. About two miles and a half from
Havelock.

this tenth day of May, one thousand nine hun-

Rural Lands in the Marlborough Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-
sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John
Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-
General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do
hereby declare that the rural land described in the
Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after
the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred;
and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule
may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance
with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one
of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain,
metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also
fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that
the said land shall be leased under and subject to the pro-
visions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY.—
LINKWATER SURVEY DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

Poor soil; well watered; steep hills covered with birch
bush. About two miles by road from Koromiko Railway-

of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare
that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the tenth day
of July, one thousand nine hundred; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of
the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in
respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in
perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Second-class Land.

These sections for the most part are quite unfit for agricultural purposes, being of a sour, mossy, and peaty nature,
together with a great extent of scrub growing on them. Distance from Kapuka Railway-station, about three miles.
