UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898,” AND “THE MINING ACT AMENDMENT ACT, 1899.”

APPLICATION FOR WATER-RACE.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Southland Land District.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned Croydon Gold-dredging Company (Limited) hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Address for service: Office of E. R. Bowler, Solicitor, Gore.

Date and number of miner’s right: 15th January, 1900; N. 7857.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the Race, and of its Starting and Terminal Points. Proposed Term of License. Length and Intended Course of Race. Estimated Time and Cost of Construction. Mean Depth and Breadth. Number of Heads to be diverted. Purpose for which Water is to be used.
Continuation of the extension of water-race held, under License No. 707, from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Invercargill, by the Applicants, starting at the north-western boundary of Section 787, Hokonui District, and terminating in Section 487, Hokonui District, and being partly a natural channel. Twenty-one years. Length, about 120 chains. Course, from north to south, through parts of Sections 787, 134, 282, and 487, the properties of Samuel Fletcher, the Southland Education Board, and the Applicant, and across a road-line. Six months; £60. 1 ft. 9 in. by 3 ft. Five heads. Hydraulic sluicing and dredging.

Objections thereto must be filed at the Land Office, Invercargill, and notified to applicant, at least two days before the day so appointed.

THE REX HILL TIN-MINING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, at Dunedin, on the 6th day of January, 1900, the subjoined special resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company, also duly convened, and held at the same place on the 23rd day of January, 1900, the said resolution was duly confirmed:—

Resolution.—That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up voluntarily.

And at the said meeting it was resolved that EDMUND ROBINSON SMITH, of Dunedin, Sharebroker, be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of winding up the said company.
