To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Lawrence.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned William George Somerville, of Dunedin, Stationer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Address for service: At the office of Alfred Crooke, Solicitor, Ross Place, Lawrence.

Date and number of miner’s right: 27th October, 1899; 9884.

Dated this 25th day of January, 1900.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Wetherstone’s Flat. Starting in a small stream in Section 196, Block II., Tuapeka East District, passing through Section 39 of Block X., Tuapeka East, belonging to Patrick Curtin, and Section 40 of the same block, belonging to Thomas Pope; terminating at southern boundary of said Section 40.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Length and intended course of race: Length, 800 yards; course, southerly.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Two months. £20.

Mean depth and breadth: Depth, 1 ft. 6 in.; breadth, 2 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Two.

Purpose for which water is to be used: To float dredge to work adjoining land.
