PROCLAMATION.

NEW SOUTH WALES, TO WIT.

By Deputation from His Excellency :

(L.S.) FREDK. M. DARLEY, Lieutenant-Governor.

By His Excellency the Right Honourable William, Earl Beauchamp, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of New South Wales and its Dependencies.

WHEREAS the Governor is empowered by section 1 of “The Vegetation Diseases Act, 1897,” to prohibit, by Proclamation in the Gazette, the introduction into this colony of any plant or fruit which is likely to introduce any disease or insect into the said colony: Now, therefore, I, William, Earl Beauchamp, the Governor aforesaid, with the advice of the Executive Council, do, by this my Proclamation, prohibit the introduction into this colony from any place outside the colony of any plant or fruit affected by the fungus known as Colletotrichum adustum, or by any species of Colletotrichum which produce any diseases known as black spot of citrus fruit, or by the species of fungus which produces the disease known as melanose.

Any plant introduced in contravention of the above Proclamation may be forthwith destroyed, or otherwise dealt with as the Minister may direct.

Given under my hand and seal, at Government House, Sydney, this eighth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred, and in the sixty-third year of Her Majesty’s reign.

Notice of the Laying-off of Road through Toko A Block, Ngai re Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, in August, 1899, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by warrants dated the 31st July, 1891, and the 17th June, 1898.

Notice published pursuant to the Provisions of Section 15 of “The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in the Office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election to administer the several intestate estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.

Maximum temperature in shade, 76°; minimum, 45°. On the whole a pleasant month. Mean temperature of dew-point, 49°·8; mean humidity, 67.
