Notifying Lands in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred, as the time at which the land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

Kopuaranga Survey District, Wairarapa North County.

Section 6, Block XII., 83 acres; total upset price, £41 10s.

This section is situated about sixteen miles from Masterton, in the Upper Taueru District, and adjoins the Te Pohue Block. The access is by unformed road from Bideford Road, at a point about one mile and a half south of Bideford.

The section is partly covered with stunted fern and manuka scrub, with a patch of light bush in the centre and gullies. The soil is of inferior quality, resting on sandstone formation. The forest is light mixed bush, with no trees of any value, comprising a small quantity of tawa, birch, and rimu, with the usual undergrowth of stunted scrub and supplejacks.

The land is indifferently watered by a small stream.

Its elevation ranges from about 650 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the eleventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Second-class Land.

All open lands, with a good deal of fertile swamp in each section. Situated next Kohekohe Settlement, one mile from Waipipi wharf, and in a well-sheltered basin.

Section 5 subject to £17 10s. for fencing and grassing (8 acres). Section 5, undulating, good land, bush and open. Section 3, nearly all mixed-forest land, fair quality. Section 4, good soil, part bush. All three sections partly improved, and situated at Herekino Settlement.

Open undulating land; fern and tea-tree, with small patches of bush. The land is Crown portion of the Aputerewa Block, on the harbour. Situated one mile and a half from Mangonui wharf.
