Additional Regulations under "The Government Advances to Settlers Act, 1894."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of November, 1900.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities vested in him by or under "The Government Advances to Settlers Act, 1894," and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the following regulations under and for the purposes of the said Acts, that is to say :—
The following scale of costs and fees payable in connection with mortgages under "The Government Advances to Settlers Act, 1894," shall be substituted for the scale set out in No. 24 of the Regulations dated 3rd December, 1894, issued thereunder :—
Mortgages under "The Land Transfer Act, 1885."
Law-costs of perusing title, preparing and registering mortgage (to be deducted from the advance):
If advance be not exceeding £500
Exceeding £500, but not exceeding £1,000
Exceeding £1,000, but not exceeding £3,000
With cash disbursements, which are the same in every case, namely:—
Mortgage-forms
Search-fee 2s.
Registration 10s.
Mortgages under "The Deeds Registration Act, 1868."
Law-costs of perusing title, preparing and registering mortgage, including disbursements (to be deducted from the advance):—
If advance be not exceeding £500
For every additional £500
Fee chargeable by solicitor not residing in registration centre for employing agent to register mortgage
Solicitor's charge for obtaining Land Board's consent to mortgage of leasehold land
Fee for execution of consent by the Superintendent to any document
Fee for production of title-deeds held by the Superintendent
Fee for partial or total discharge of mortgage

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of December, 1900.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Omaka Domain Board, namely,—

ROBERT McARTNEY,
SAMUEL MUNSON NEVILLE,
JOHN GREY TREVOR, and
FREDERICK ROBERT CHARLES RIDDLE
(herein referred to as “the Board”); subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Wednesday in each month, at two o'clock p.m., at the offices of the Borough Council, Blenheim, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Wednesday in February in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 270 acres, more or less, situated in the District of Omaka, and being Section No. 31 and Part 2 of Section No. 33 on the plan of the said district. Bounded towards the north, 3750 links by Sections Nos. 32 and 30 on the said plan, and 1900 links by a public road 75 links wide; towards the east by the River Taylor; towards the south, 700 and 3750 links, by a public road 75 links wide; and towards the west, 5500 links, by Part 1 of Section No. 33 on the said plan.

Regulations under "The Old-age Pensions Act, 1898."
RANFURLY, Governor.
PURSUANT to and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred on him by "The Old-age Pensions Act, 1898," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby revoke the regulations made on the ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, and the fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, respectively, and doth make the following regulations, that is to say :—
INTERPRETATION.
- In these regulations "the principal Act" means "The Old-age Pensions Act, 1898," and "the Amendment Act" means "The Old-age Pensions Act Amendment Act, 1900." "Magistrate" means a Stipendiary Magistrate.
PENSION-CLAIMS, AND MATTERS RELATING THERETO.

The pension-claim shall be in the form numbered 1 in the Schedule hereto.

The Pension-claim Register shall be in the form numbered 2 in the Schedule hereto.

The Deputy Registrar shall not file or record in the Register any pension-claim which is not made on the printed form, or which on its face discloses the fact that the claimant resides in another old-age pension district; but in the former case he shall return it to the claimant, together with a notice in the form numbered 3 in the Schedule hereto, and in the latter case he shall forward it to the Deputy
