Proclaiming Road as closed through Land in the Makuri Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the road hereinafter described, that is to say:—

A. R. P. 1 1 34 20 Block II., Makuri 1⁵⁹/₁₄ Green.

As the same is delineated upon the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the District Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owners and of the mortgagee of the land hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Pahiatua County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said lands are situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as a road the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

MAKAIRO ROAD.

The parcels of land mentioned hereunder:—

New County of Castlepoint divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Castlepoint County Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Castlepoint, as constituted by the said Acts, into two ridings, to be called the East Riding and the West Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth under the names of the said ridings respectively in the Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby declare that three members shall be elected for the East Riding and three members for the West Riding.

And I do further declare that Wednesday, the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Castlepoint shall take place, and that Saturday, the twelfth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one, at twelve o’clock noon, shall be the time, and the Castlepoint Road Board Office at Tenui shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
EAST RIDING.

Bounded towards the north-east generally by the County of Akitio from the westernmost corner of Section No. 471 in Block I., Castlepoint Survey District, to the ocean; thence towards the east generally by the ocean to the mouth of the Whareama River; thence towards the south-west generally by the County of Masterton to the confluence of the said Whareama River with the Mangapokia River; thence by a line along the middle of the said Whareama River to the southern boundary-line of Section No. 828 in Block III., Mangapakeha Survey District; and thence towards the north generally by the said Section No. 828 and Sections Nos. 830, 831, and 834, Block IV., Mangapakeha Survey District, and by Section No. 821 to the place of commencement.

WEST RIDING.

Bounded towards the north-east generally by the County of Akitio; towards the south and east generally by East Riding hereinbefore described; and towards the south, and west, and north generally by the Masterton County.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred.
