the Veale Road, authorised to be raised by the Frankley Road Board under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the said Frankley Road Board do hereby make and levy a special rate of ⁹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the following lands, which are hereby constituted the Veale Road Special Rating District: Sections part 26 (closed road), part 56 (portion on eastern side of Frankley Road), 57, 58, part 59, part 60, 69, 70, 71, part 72, 482, 483, 484, part 485, 485A, 485B, 494, 495, part 496, part 497, 506, part 507, part 508, part 518A, Blocks V. and IX., Paritutu Survey District, Taranaki County. That such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable in two equal instalments, at the office of the said Board, on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July of each and every year during the currency of the loan.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of special order that has been duly made and passed by the Frankley Road Board, as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
THE following is the result of poll on the proposal to borrow £1,200, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for draining, forming, culverting, and metalling a portion of the Opua Road, in the Parihaka Road District:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 14, representing 14 votes: Votes recorded for the proposal, 10; number of ratepayers voting, 10; votes against, nil.
As a majority of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following is the result of a poll of ratepayers taken on the 4th October, 1899, on a proposal to raise a loan of £3,500 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for trimming and metalling the Main Drain Road and Couper’s Line:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 19, exercising 51 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 13, exercising 36 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil.
The number of voters and votes in favour of the proposal being more than half the total number exercisable, I hereby declare such proposal to be carried.

WHEREAS it is expedient to rearrange the division of the County of Hutt into ridings, and to readjust the representation of the same: Now it is hereby ordered that from and after the 14th day of November, 1899, the number of ridings shall be seven, which shall respectively have the names and boundaries as hereinafter set forth, that is to say:—
