THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the lands described in the Schedule hereto were, on the 12th, 19th, and 26th April, 15th and 20th May, 10th June, 15th July, and 10th November, 1897, duly taken and laid off for the purposes of a railway, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated the 7th May, 1895.

As the said areas are delineated upon the plans marked as above mentioned, deposited in the District Office of the Lands and Survey Department at New Plymouth, in the Taranaki Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, being Allotment 8, Block II., on the plan of the private Township of Merchiston, in the North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District of the Provincial District of Otago, having a frontage to Almond Street of 100 links, by a depth of 250 links. The last registered owner is Agnes Simmons, described as of Dunedin, spinster, who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
