Taking Land for a Road-deviation through Private Lands,
Block XI., Belmont Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, with the consent of the owners of the lands
hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Onslow
Borough Council, being the local authority in whose district
the said lands are situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as a road the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

The parcels of land mentioned hereunder :—

Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twentieth day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety nine.

Proclaiming a Road as closed through Land in Tiriraukawa
Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed
part of the road in the Tiriraukawa Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,—

Altering the Name of the Town of Birmingham.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by sections two and three of “The Designation of Districts Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor in Council may, at the request or with the consent of the Council of any county, city, or borough, alter the geographical name or designation of any place or locality in the colony :
And whereas the Kiwitea County Council has requested that the present name of “Birmingham,” within the County of Kiwitea, be altered as hereinafter mentioned, and it appears expedient to comply with such request :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Township of Birmingham, in the County of Kiwitea aforesaid, shall, on and after the fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, be called and known by the name of “Kimbolton,” and the name of the said Township of Birmingham is hereby altered accordingly.

Altering Boundaries of Stratford and Clifton Counties.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth
day of January, 1899.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by
section three of “The Counties Act 1886 Amendment Act, 1895” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), the Stratford County Council and the Clifton County Council respectively did, by an instrument bearing date the tenth day of November last, formally agree that the boundaries of the said counties should be altered to the extent set forth in the said instrument and also in the Schedule hereto : And whereas it is expedient that such alteration of boundaries be approved by the Governor in Council, and that such altered boundary be defined in terms of the said Act :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the publication of these presents in the New Zealand Gazette, the boundaries of the Counties of Stratford and Clifton respectively shall be those set forth under their respective headings in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

STRATFORD COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north generally by a right line from the summit of Mount Egmont to the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 17, Block XVI., Egmont Survey District, at the north-western corner of that section; thence by a line along the middle of that road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 17, 18, 19, and 20 to Darby Road, and thence by a line along the middle of that road to the Waipuku Stream; thence by a line along the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Manganui River; thence by a line along the middle of the Manganui River to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block V., Huiroa Survey District; thence by a right line to and by the southern boundary-line of Blocks V. and VI., Huiroa Survey District, and part of the eastern boundary-line of said Block VI. to the middle of the Mako
