Broken, hilly country, covered with mixed bush consisting principally of rimu, rata, miro, rewarewa, &c., with an underscrub of rangiora and supplejacks in the valleys and lower portions, and birch on the higher elevations; fair soil; well watered; about an elevation of 1,400 ft. above sea-level. The section is adapted both for grazing and dairying. About six miles from Norsewood, three miles of which is by a good metalled road, the remainder being a bridle-track.

About 180 acres is open fern and grass-flat land, the remainder being covered with bush consisting of rimu, matai, hinau, miro, &c.; the soil ranges from poor and stony up to good, and the section is adapted for agricultural and grazing purposes, as the open portion is all ploughable; there is permanent water on the section, which lies about 1,200 ft. above sea-level. About ten miles from Norsewood by a good road, and the same distance from Takapau Railway-station.

Undulating country, covered with mixed bush, consisting principally of rimu, rata, miro, hinau, and a thick underscrub of rangiora and supplejack; fair soil; well watered. The land lies about 1,200 ft. above sea-level, and is accessible by a good metalled road from Norsewood, distant five miles, and Ormondville Railway-station, distant nine miles. There is a co-operative dairy factory at Norsewood, and also a private dairy factory about one mile from the sections. The land is well adapted for dairying and farming purposes.

All hilly, undulating country, covered with bush, consisting of rimu, rata, miro, hinau, &c., in the valleys, and birch on the higher spurs and hills; the soil is fair in the valleys and lower spurs, but poor and stony on the higher spurs and hills; well watered; elevation from 1,200 ft. to 1,900 ft. above sea-level. Distant about six miles from Norsewood by a good metalled road, and ten miles from Ormondville Railway-station.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
