Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, situated in the Township of Burnside East, Lower Kaikorai District, in the Provincial District of Otago, being Allotment 23, Block II., on the plan of, and having a frontage to, Owen Street, in the said township. The registered owner of the land is Evan Prosser, formerly of Dunedin, chemist, now deceased, who it is supposed sold the land to one James Robinson, of whom nothing is known. The land is in the occupation of Mr. William Booker, jun.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Notice published pursuant to the Provisions of Section 15 of “The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election to administer the several intestate estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this 20th day of June, 1899, cancelled the registry of the Rose of Sharon Tent at Waipawa, Register No. 110 (14), a branch of the New Zealand Central District, Independent Order of Rechabites, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

Forfeiture of Lease, Nelson District.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned lease was forfeited by resolution of the Nelson Land Board on the 1st day of June, 1899:—

Lease in perpetuity of Section 3, Block VII., Wakapuaka Survey District, 58 acres 2 roods 24 perches, held by Richard Weller.

NOTICE is hereby given that leases of the under-mentioned pastoral runs will be submitted to public auction at this office on Thursday, the 3rd day of August, 1899, at 11 o’clock a.m.

Run 520, Waiau: Land level, of gravel formation, and poor soil; vegetation, silver- and blue-tussock; height above sea-level, 200 ft. to 600 ft. Distance from Otautau Railway-station, about twenty-three miles.

Run 481: Low marshy country, covered with bog-pine, poor soil.

Run 422: All hill, about one-half low scrub; balance fair sheep-country.

Possession will be given on the day of sale.

The purchaser must deposit the statutory declaration required by section 195 of “The Land Act, 1892,” and pay the sum of the half-year’s rent and license-fee on the fall of the hammer.
