THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Stratford County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESULT of a poll taken on the 6th day of April, 1899, upon the proposal to borrow £2,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, to form, grade, bridge, and metal the Douglas Road North, Tunupo and Autawa Roads, from the Makuri Road to Section 24 of Block V., Ngatimaru Survey District, so far as the money shall allow:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 12; number of votes exercisable, 14: Number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal, 4; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 6; number of ratepayers voting against the proposal, 1; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 1.
I declare the above proposal to be lost.

THE following special order, made by the Oakura Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

OAKURA ROAD BOARD.
THE following special order has been made by the Oakura Road Board, viz.:—
“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other annual charges on a loan of £600 for the formation and metalling the Koru and Plymouth Roads, authorised to be raised by the said Board, under the provisions of ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ do hereby make and levy a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the following lands, which are hereby constituted the ‘Koru and Plymouth Road Special Rating District’: Sections part 5 and part 16, between Koru and Croydon Roads, 17a, 33; 25 acres of southern portion of Section 16, and 17 acres of eastern portion of Section 44, between Koru and Victoria Roads; Sections 45, 53, 54, 55, 2a, 3a, 4a, and 62, Block 2, Wairau Survey District; Sections 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 1, 2, and 3, Block 1, and Sections 6 and 7, Block 5, Egmont Survey District, Taranaki County. That such rate shall be an annual recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable in two equal instalments at the office of the said Board on the 1st day of January and 1st day of July of each and every year during the currency of the loan.”

SPECIAL ORDER OF THE SEATOUN ROAD BOARD.
THAT the membership of the Seatoun Road Board be increased to five members, in lieu of four members as at present.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been made by the Seatoun Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and was proposed at a meeting of the Board held on the 9th day of March, 1899, and passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 20th day of April, 1899.

THE following special orders, made by the Masterton Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDERS made by the Masterton Road Board striking Special Rates under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” the Board of the Masterton Road District resolves as follows:—
“That, to meet interest and annual charges on a loan of £110 raised under ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of forming and metalling the road-frontage to Subsections 12 and 21 of the Te Oreore Estate, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be and the same is hereby made upon the rateable value for the time being of the following rateable property, that is to say: Subsections 8, 10, 11, 12, 21, 24, 25 of the said Te Oreore Estate, Block I., Otahoua Survey District.
“That the said rate shall be annually recurring for a period of twenty-six years, and payable at the office for the time being of the said Board in two equal instalments, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year, commencing on the 1st day of February, 1900.”
Passed by the said Board, this 25th day of February, 1899.
The common seal of the inhabitants of the Masterton Road District was affixed hereto in the presence of—

“That the said rate shall be an annually recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and payable at the office for the time being of the said Board in two equal instalments, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year, commencing on the 1st day of February, 1900.”
Passed by the said Board, this 25th day of February, 1899.
