CORPS.

“Volunteer corps” includes any body of Naval Artillery, Submarine Miners, any battery of Artillery, any company of Engineers, Mounted Rifles, Rifles, Cycle and Bearer corps, and any body of the Reserve as organized under these Regulations. All these corps except the Reserve corps will be entitled to capitation under the prescribed conditions.

  1. Any corps will be entitled to a medical officer and an Honorary Chaplain. Mounted corps will be entitled to an Honorary Veterinary Surgeon.

PRECEDENCE.

  1. The Volunteer Force shall consist of the following different arms, which shall rank in the order named:—
    Naval Artillery Volunteers and Submarine Miners.
    Mounted Corps Volunteers, when dismounted.
    Artillery Volunteers.
    Engineer Volunteers.
    Rifle Volunteers.
    Cycle Volunteers.
    Bearer Corps Volunteers.

53A. The officers of Cycle corps shall be lieutenants, and shall be on the same footing and will pass the same examinations as officers of Infantry corps.

  1. Medical officers who have seen actual service with the Colonial Forces will be entitled to reckon one year of such service as two in determining their relative seniority with other medical officers, and those who have been posted to the Militia or Armed Constabulary may reckon the years that they have served with those Forces when called out for training and exercise, in addition to any service while actively employed in any capacity while on the medical list. Service for medals and promotion will be reckoned as above.

  2. Commissions to medical officers will be given and issued for the New Zealand Volunteer medical staff, and their names will be kept on a general list, from which list medical officers will be taken as Principal Medical Officer of a district, medical officer of a Volunteer corps, or company officer of a Bearer corps.
