EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order was made on Saturday, the 7th January, 1899, and confirmed on Saturday, the 4th March, 1899:—
“ That, for the purpose of securing payment of £150 borrowed by the Board under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of completing the metalling of Mangaone Valley Road, a special rate of 7/6d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following properties: Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block IV., Mangaone Survey District: such rate to be an annually recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year.”

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
THE following is the result of a poll taken on Thursday, the 23rd day of February, 1899, on the proposal of the Rangitikei County Council to borrow the sum of £800, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and “The Government Emergency Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1897,” for the purpose of providing the Council’s share of the cost of acquiring and constructing the roads of approach to the Kakariki combined road- and railway-bridge over the Rangitikei River:—
Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 210; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 2.
A majority of the votes recorded being in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Upper York Road Special Rating-area, taken on Thursday, 23rd February, 1899, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £600, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of draining, forming, metalling, and building a bridge on the upper portion of York Road, commencing at the Derby Road and extending westwards; to strike as security on this loan a special rate of 9d. in the pound over the following lands—namely, Sections 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, Block XVI., Egmont Survey District; and to set aside the Land Fund money accruing to the above sections towards paying interest on loan:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 7; number of votes exercisable, 7: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 4; no votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following is the result of a poll taken at the Road Board Office, Ekatahuna, Wednesday, the 21st December, 1898, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £150 for completing the metalling of Mangaone Valley Road:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 5; number of pollable votes, 7: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4, exercising 6 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, none; number of ratepayers who did not exercise their votes, 1, being entitled to exercise 1 vote.
As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case a majority of the total numbers on the roll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.
