Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby validate the said elections, and doth declare that William Davey and William Deeble, the persons elected on the said sixteenth and twenty-third days of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, by the Thames Borough Council and the Thames County Council as members of the Thames Harbour Board, shall continue to hold office as members of the Thames Harbour Board in the same manner as if the irregularities hereinbefore mentioned in connection with such election had not taken place.

Powers delegated to the Port Robinson Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of March, 1899.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons, for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such Order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of the ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, the land described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881”:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present Order delegate, with respect to the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the Port Robinson Domain Board, constituted by an Order in Council issued on the nineteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulation that the Board shall have power to lop, trim, and thin the trees and plantations upon the land at their discretion, and have power to sell the wood so cut.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 55 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 3159, Block XI., Cheviot Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the stream between Sections Nos. 21 and 22, Block XI., Cheviot; towards the north-east generally by the Bluff Road; towards the south-west by Gore Street, Robinson Street, and Campbell Street; towards the west by the Ngaio Road: save and except Sections Nos. 22 to 34, inclusive, Block XI., Cheviot; Reserve No. 3151; and two road-lines, one 100 and one 50 links wide, which intersect the area hereby described: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 44 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 3160, Block XI., Cheviot Survey District. Bounded towards the east by the Bluff Road; towards the south by the stream between Sections Nos. 21 and 22, Block XI., Cheviot; and towards the west by the Cathedral Road: save and except Sections Nos. 16 to 21, inclusive, of Block XI., Cheviot: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

Time for Preparation of Roll under Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act extended, Grey County.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the County Council of the Grey County having failed, through misadventure, to prepare the valuation-roll of mining property in the Grey County in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, as required by section seven of “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” it is expedient to extend the time for preparing the said roll, as hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Rating Act, 1882,” which said Act is incorporated with the first above-mentioned Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the preparation of the valuation-roll for the Grey County, under “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” until the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

WHEREAS the County Council of the Westland County having failed, through misadventure, to prepare the valuation-roll of mining property in the Westland County in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, as required by section seven of “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” it is expedient to extend the time for preparing the said roll, and for doing the other things set forth in the said section, as hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Rating Act, 1882,” which said Act is incorporated with the first above-mentioned Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the preparation of the valuation-roll for the Westland County, under “The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,” until the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine; and doth also hereby extend the time within which the valuers shall give notice of the rateable value determined by them to each occupier, so that such notices may be given on or before the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, and that objections to such valuations may be made on or before the tenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, and that the Assessment Court may sit for the purpose of hearing such objections on or after the seventeenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Altering Boundaries of Ridings, County of Manukau.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-three of “The Counties Act, 1886” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor in Council may, at any time and from time to time, alter the ridings of all counties in the colony where necessary to give effect to the provisions of section twelve of the said Act:

And whereas the Papakura and Maungatawhiri Ridings of the County of Manukau do not, by reason of the alteration of the boundaries of the Hunua, Opaheke North, and Opaheke Road Districts, made by Order in Council of the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, comply with the requirements of section twelve of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that, from and after the twenty-third day of February, one thousand eight hundred
