PUBLIC NOTICE.

THE following is the result of the poll taken in the Road Board Office, Waiuku, on Saturday, the 5th November, 1898, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £500, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of metalling a portion of the main Waiuku–Karioitahi Road and a portion of the main Waiuku–Waipipi Road:

Number of voters on the special roll, 57; number of votes exercisable, 61: Number of votes recorded in favour of proposal, 42; number of voters who voted in favour of the proposal, 39; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil; informal vote, 1.

As the majority in number of votes and voters were in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be duly carried.
