Lands declared to be Crown Land subject to “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto have been acquired under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown lands subject to the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894.”

SCHEDULE.

TE MATUA SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 702 acres and 19 perches, more or less, being the Native Land Court Subdivisions 4A, 4A No. 2B, 6A, 2B, 10, and part of 5B No. 3, of Upper Aorangi No. 1; Blocks I. and II., Kairanga Survey District: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19216, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon edged red.

OHAKEA SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,736 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 22, and parts of Native Sections Nos. 138 and 139, Block XV., Rangitoto Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the Rangitikei River, by Sections Nos. 282 and 283 (river-protection reserves), by the road forming the northern boundary of Native Section No. 139; towards the north-east by Hurst’s Road; towards the south-east by Wilson’s Road and Frecklington’s Road respectively to the easternmost corner of Section No. 23; thence towards the south-west and again towards the south-east by the said Section No. 23 to the road forming the eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 135, 136, and 137, Block XIV., Rangitoto Survey District aforesaid; thence by that road to the Rangitikei River, the place of commencement: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19212, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Constituting Local Land Districts in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the twenty-third section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to time may appoint Land Offices and land officers or other persons for conducting sales of land in such local districts, and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of Crown lands, and for generally carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the districts described in the Schedule hereto are hereby established, defined, and constituted local land districts, and that the land offices the names of which are described in the said Schedule opposite the names of the said local districts are appointed the land offices for the said local districts.
