Authorising Local Authorities to issue Licenses under “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1898.”
RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of December, 1898.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1898” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, authorise any specified local authorities whose districts are in whole or in part comprised within a kauri-gum district to issue licenses under the said Act: And whereas it is expedient to make provision for the issue of such licenses: Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby authorise and empower the several local authorities specified in the Schedule hereto to be local authorities authorised to issue licenses under the said Act.
