A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby set apart the forest land described in the Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands in New Zealand, as and for State forests within the provisions of the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Setting apart Land in Southland for Agricultural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-twenty-fifth section of “The Mining Act, 1891,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands situate within a goldfield to be selected and set apart for the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor, or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred payments under any law for the time being in force in the land district in which such mining district is situate:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is Crown land subject to be dealt with under the provisions of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to set the same apart for the purpose of granting an agricultural lease thereon and therefor:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby select and set apart, for the purpose of granting an agricultural lease thereon and therefor, the land described in the Schedule hereto, and do fix the nineteenth day of January next ensuing, at the Warden’s office at Invercargill, as the day and place on which the said land shall be open for application, as surveyed, and marked on the survey map in the said office.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 100 acres, more or less, and known on the maps of the Survey Department as Section 14, Block XIV., Oteramika Hundred, and bounded towards the south-east, south, and south-west by a 1-chain reserve along the west bank of Mataura River; towards the north-west by Crown lands; and towards the north by Section 12 of the said Block XIV.
