sory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessees, nor
shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of
improvements effected by the lessees, nor for any other cause.
2. Possession will be given on the date of acceptance of
tender.
3. The leases shall be for a term of seven years, but shall
be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the
event of the land being required by Government.
4. The rent shall be payable yearly in advance.
5. The lands are let for grazing purposes, and lessees will
not be permitted to break up or crop any of the same with-
out the written permission of the Land Board first had and
obtained.
6. The lessee shall use all reasonable means to prevent
the spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land com-
prised in his lease.
7. The lessee shall destroy rabbits on the land, and shall
prevent their increase or spread to the satisfaction of the
Commissioner of Crown Lands or the Stock Department.

Small Grazing-run, Marlborough, open for Selection.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned
small grazing-run will be open for lease, upon appli-
cation at this office, on Wednesday, the 4th January, 1899,
at the half-yearly rental stated.

Clarence Run, Marlborough, for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned
pastoral land will be offered for lease by public
auction, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim,
on Monday, the 9th January, 1899, at 2 p.m.
If the run be not leased at auction on the 9th January,
1899, then it will be open for selection for the term and at
the rental stated herein.

Situate mainly in the Clarence Valley. It is excellent
country, a large portion being on limestone. The run is
difficult of access, sheep having to be driven over the range
to the Kaikoura side to be shorn at the reserve on the main
road. This reserve is now included as part of the run, and
on it are the wool-shed, yards, and other buildings, ample
for homestead purposes. These buildings go with the run
as part of the leasehold.
The above run will be sold generally in accordance with
the provisions of Part VI. of “The Land Act, 1892.”
Possession will be given on the 1st April, 1899.
Purchasers must deposit a statutory declaration, required
by section 62 of “The Land Act, 1892,” and pay the sum of
the half-year’s rent and license-fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the
hammer.

WRITTEN tenders will be received at the District
Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock
p.m. on Wednesday, the 14th December, 1898, for the lease
of the under-mentioned sections. If any sections are un-
applied-for on the 14th December they will remain open for
selection at the upset rentals, and for the terms stated
herein.

Township of Paraparaumu.

Sections 22, 23, and 48, Ohau Township: These sections
are situated about half a mile from the Ohau Railway-
station, which is on the Wellington–Manawatu line, distant
about fifty-six miles from Wellington. Sections 22 and 23, in
front of the main county road, are perfectly level and in
grass, and have good soil on a sandy formation. Section 48
fronts on a formed road, has good soil on a shingle-and-clay
formation, and is all in grass, about half the section being
flat.

Sections 10 and 11, Block VII., Paraparaumu Township:
These sections are situated on the main road, within a few
chains of the Paraparaumu Railway-station, which is about
thirty-three miles from Wellington on the Wellington–
Manawatu Railway-line. The sections have good soil on a
sandy formation, and are in grass and perfectly level.

Conditions.

  1. Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheque or
    post-office order for six months’ rent at the rate offered,
    together with £1 1s. lease-fee.
  2. There are no restrictions or limitations as to the
    number of sections which one person may lease, and no
    declaration is required. Residence and improvements are
    not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the
    lessees, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on
    account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for
    any other cause.

Westland Land District.—Auction Sale of Pastoral Licenses.

Crown Lands Office,
Hokitika, 15th November, 1898.

NOTICE is hereby given that the licenses of the
pastoral runs set out below will be offered by public
auction at the Land Office, Hokitika, on Thursday, the
12th day of January next, at the hour of 2-o’clock in the
afternoon, at the prices and for the terms given, and subject
to any rights of renewal or resumption as may be prescribed
by the Land Acts or other constituted authority, and subject
to the necessary declarations being taken.
Maps may be seen at the Land Office, Hokitika, where
other full particulars as to conditions of sale and license,
&c., may be ascertained.
Payments to be made on the fall of the hammer, and
consist, with regard to the said licenses, of six months’ rent
in advance and license-fee of £1 1s.
