Land taken for a Further Extension of the Whangarei-Kamo Railway to a Point in Hukerenui Survey District (Hukerenui Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further extension of the Whangarei-Kamo Railway to a point in Hukerenui Survey District:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the extension of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

All in the Land District of Auckland; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 18391, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured neutral tint, red, green, blue, and yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of October, 1898.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purposes of a gravel-pit, and road leading thereto, in Block VII., Heretaunga Survey District:
And whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown: And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said lands by the Hawke’s Bay County Council, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said gravel-pit, and road thereto, and the said land shall vest in the Hawke’s Bay County Council, as from the fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
