KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
THE following is the result of poll on the proposals to borrow £1,011 15s. for forming, culverting, and metalling streets within the Birmingham Township:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 127, representing 128 votes: Number of ratepayers voting, 81; votes recorded for the proposal, 80; votes against, 1; informal, 1.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised by the whole number of the ratepayers, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

WEDNESDAY, the 30th November instant, being St. Andrew’s Day, will be observed as a public holiday in the Government offices throughout New Zealand, excepting those in the City of Auckland, which will be closed on Thursday, 1st December next, being date of opening of Auckland Industrial Exhibition.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Section 3, Block I., Lillburn District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road and approach to the Waiau–Clifden Bridge, in Lillburn Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is further given that the plan of the said road and approach and of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Clifden, and is there open for inspection. And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road through Maungaraki A Block, Wainuioru Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 13th August, 1898, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated the 1st August, 1898.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road through Ngawaka-a-Kupe Block, in the Waipawa Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given, under the authority contained in section 96 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” and the amendments thereof, that the road mentioned in the Schedule hereto was, on the 13th August, 1892, surveyed and laid off over the Native land therein mentioned, under my direction; and that, in terms of the said Act, the site of such road shall be deemed to be a road dedicated to the public, and shall vest in Her Majesty.
