10, 12, 19, and 22 of the Parish of Mangatete, by a public road, by Sections 64A and 64 of the Parish of Mangatete, by the Raparapa Stream, by the Otukai River, by the Otara-poko Block, and by Section No. 1 of Block XII., Rangaunu Survey District: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 38719, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Land set apart for Settlement.

A P R O C L A M A T I O N.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.


SCHEDULE.

TE PUROA BLOCK.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District situate in the Parish of Waipa, and containing by admeasurement 8,600 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 137, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, and 157 of the Parish of Waipa, by a public road, by Sections Nos. 213 and 211 of the said Parish of Waipa, by a public road, by Sections Nos. 201, 192, and northern portion of Section No. 193, again by a public road, and by Sections Nos. 95, 93, 94, and 9, all of the Parish of Waipa; towards the south-east generally by a public road, by Sections Nos. 54 and 58 of the said Parish of Waipa, and by a public road; towards the south by Sections Nos. 64 and 63 of the Parish of Waipa aforesaid; and towards the west generally by Sections Nos. 218, 135, and 216 of the Parish of Waipa aforesaid: save and except Section No. 53 of the Parish of Waipa aforesaid from the area hereinbefore described: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 38718, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

Bounded towards the north by unadjudicated Native land; towards the north-east generally by Section No. 53 of the Parish of Mangonui, by a public road, by Sections Nos. 106, 128, and again by 106 of the said Parish of Mangonui, and by a public road; towards the south generally by a public road and by Sections Nos. 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5 of the Parish of Maungataniwha East; and towards the west by Te Awa Puku Block, and by Sections Nos. 7, 6, and 4 of the Parish of Waitaran: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 38729, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
