A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to take further land in East Taieri District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

In the Land District of Otago; as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 18361, deposited in the Office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Paparoa, Mangawai, Tapau, Gabriel’s, and Mount Benger Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into seven marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
MAUNGATUROTO DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by the Parishes of Waipu and Mangawai respectively; towards the east generally by the Makaru River; towards the south-east and south-west by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the Parish of Kaiwaka, by Kaitara No. 1 Block and the Kaitara River to the Kaiwaka River; thence towards the south by the Kaiwaka River to the Otamatea River; thence again towards the south-east by the Otamatea River; towards the south-west by the Arapaoa River; and towards the north-west by Te Pahi River and the Parishes of Paparoa and Mareretu.
PAPAROA DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the Mangonui River from its confluence with the Omaru River to the Parish of Mareretu; thence towards the north-east and again towards the north by Mareretu Parish; towards the east generally by the Parish of Wairau and Te Pahi and Arapaoa Rivers respectively; towards the south-east by the Otamatea River; towards the south-west by the Wairoa River to the mouth of Awaroa Stream; and towards the west generally by the Awaroa Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 1, Omaru Parish; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of that section; thence by the said Section No. 1 and Section No. 29 to Omaru Parish boundary; and thence by Omaru Parish to the Mangonui River aforesaid.
MANGAWAI DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the Parish of Waipu; towards the north-east by the sea; towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of Arai Parish; towards the south generally by the southern boundary of Arai Parish, by Sections Nos. 104 and 103, Oruawharo Parish, and the
