Special Order made by the Kaiti Road Board, County of Cook.

THE following special order, made by the Kaiti Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

KAITI ROAD DISTRICT BOARD.

SPECIAL ORDER, made on the 2nd Day of November, 1898, confirming a Resolution passed by the above-named Board, striking a Special Rate in Terms of the Provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

RESOLVED, “That a special rate of ½d. in the pound be struck upon all rateable property within the Kaiti Road Board District, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 29th September, 1887, page 1248, for the period of twenty-six years commencing 1st December, 1898, and ending 30th November, 1924, for the purpose of providing interest on a loan of the sum of £2,000, to be obtained in terms of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ to carry out the particular public works set forth in a proposal agreed to by a resolution of the ratepayers of the said district at a poll taken on 17th September, 1898. The said special rate shall be a recurrent rate for the period stated, and shall be due and payable in two equal instalments on the 1st day of December and June in each year. This special order shall take effect upon the date the same is published in the New Zealand Gazette.”

I, George Matthewson, Chairman of the Kaiti Road Board, hereby certify that the special order of which the foregoing is a true copy was duly passed at a meeting of the said Road Board held this 2nd day of November, 1898.
