NOTICE is hereby given that the Office or place of business of the above two companies is removed from the Bank of New Zealand Buildings, Auckland, to Smith Street, Reefton, the latter being the sole place of business in this colony.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company (Limited) (new company) has taken over the property and works of the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company (Limited), (in liquidation), and that the Office of the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company (Limited) (new company) is at the office of Messrs. John Chambers and Son, Fort Street, in the City of Auckland.

THE AUCKLAND EXPLORATION COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Auckland Exploration Company (Limited), held at 91, Queen Street, Auckland, on the 3rd day of October, 1898, the following special resolution was passed:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily under ‘The Companies Act, 1882,’ and that James Coe be appointed Liquidator.”

The said special resolution was duly confirmed at a properly constituted meeting of shareholders held at the same place on the 18th day of October, 1898.

THE result of a poll taken on the 6th October, 1898, on a proposal “That ‘The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,’ be adopted in the Cheviot County, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof,” was as follows:—

Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 165; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 41.

I hereby declare the above proposal to be carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION OF THE WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD TO TAKE LAND WITHIN THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.

NOTICE is hereby given that certain land, with the buildings thereon, is required by the Wellington Harbour Board for the purposes of diverting part of Victoria Street and part of the Te Aro extension of the Wellington-Napier Railway, and for the works authorised to be executed by the Wellington Harbour Board, and the works, duties, and obligations imposed upon the Wellington Harbour Board by “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898,” and the Wellington Harbour Board thinking fit to acquire part of the land comprised in Schedule B of “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898”; and that for such purposes the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken under the provisions of “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898,” “The Harbours Act, 1878,” and “The Public Works Act, 1894.” And notice is further given that a plan showing the land so required to be taken, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such land, so far as they can be ascertained, dated the 20th day of October, 1898, and bearing the seal of the Wellington Harbour Board, is deposited in the Secretary’s office of the Wellington Harbour Board, at the Queen’s Wharf, Wellington, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections thereto, set forth such objections in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the Wellington Harbour Board.

SCHEDULE.

All those pieces or parcels of land, containing 2 acres, being Sections 222 and 224 on the plan of the City of Wellington.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 30·16 perches, being part of Section 221 on the plan of the City of Wellington, bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of the said section, towards the east by Section No. 222 on the plan of the City of Wellington, 348·03 links and 151·34 links; thence towards the north by part of Lot 45, Reserve K, City of Wellington, 15·3 links, 5·9 links, and 9·09 links, and by part of Lot 44A, Reserve K, 7·51 links; thence towards the west by other part of the said Section 221, by a line bearing 23° 32′ 33″, 499·68 links; and thence towards the south by Courtenay Place, 22·87 links, and 15·3 links, to the commencing-point.

Also all that piece or parcel of land being Section 223 on the plan of the City of Wellington, saving and excepting thereout all that piece or parcel of land, containing 12 perches, being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. i., folio 17.

Also all that piece or parcel of land being Section 225 on the plan of the City of Wellington, saving and excepting thereout, firstly, all those pieces or parcels of land being Lots 2, 3, and 4 on a subdivisional plan of the said Section 225, deposited in the office of the Registrar of Deeds, Wellington, as No. 52; secondly, so much of Lot 1 on the said subdivisional plan as is bounded towards the south by Courtenay Place, 63·64 links, towards the east by the said Lot 2 and part of Lot 5 on the said subdivisional plan, 154·55 links, towards the north by other part of the said Lot No. 1, 62·50 links, and towards the west by Section No. 224 on the said plan, 165·16 links.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 12 perches, being part of the land reclaimed from the Wellington Harbour, known as Te Aro Reclamation, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. lii., folio 15.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 12·5 perches, being part of Lot 46, Reserve K aforesaid, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. lvi., folio 199.

Also all those pieces or parcels of land, containing 7·2 perches and 3·6 perches, being parts of Lot 46, Reserve K aforesaid, and being the whole of the land described in certificates of title, Vol. liii., folios 230 and 169.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 2·20 perches, and being part of Lot 45, Reserve K aforesaid, and being the whole of the land described in memoranda of transfers 18147 and 31736.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 7·2 perches, being part of Lot 46, Reserve K aforesaid, and being the whole of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. lvi., folio 189.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing 7·2 perches, being part of Lot 47, Reserve K aforesaid, bounded towards the west by the last-mentioned land, 151·5 links; towards the north by Victoria Street, 30·8 links; towards the east by other part of the said Lot 47, 151·5 links; towards the south by part of Section 223 on the plan of the City of Wellington, 30·3 links.

Be all the above areas and measurements, and each and every of them, a little more or less, as the same pieces or parcels of land proposed to be taken are more particularly delineated on the said plan, and thereon coloured Bayne’s grey.

Also the streets known as Allen and Grainger Streets, in the City of Wellington.

As witness the seal of the Board, this 20th day of October, 1898.
