Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Picton—Hurunui Railway (Awatere Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Picton—Hurunui Railway is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and sixty-six and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in Section No. 2 of Block I., Awatere, the said point being the termination of the railway as described in a Proclamation dated the 11th June, 1884, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 71, of the 19th June, 1884; proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction for a distance of about 5 miles 40 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: viz., the said Section No. 2 of Block I., Awatere; Section No. 4 of Block I., Awatere; Sections 33, 34, 36, 103, 105, and 106A, and terminating at a point in said Section 106A distant about 7½ chains in a north-westerly direction from the north-east corner thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Clifford Bay Survey District: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 18327, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Additional Land taken in Hawke’s Bay County for the Purposes of the Wellington—Napier Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington—Napier Railway to take further land in Hawke’s Bay County, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

Proclaiming the Taking of a Road through Sections 18 and 20, Waituna Village.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the Kiwitea County Council, being the local authority in whose district the lands are situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as a road the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

The parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the lessee of the lands hereinafter mentioned, do by this notice hereby proclaim as a road the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
