Revoking a Proclamation.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby revoke that part of a Proclamation dated the twenty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 7, dated the thirtieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, setting apart land for Whangamomona Improved-farm Settlement, as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Railway from the Main Line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and Toitois (Seaward Bush Branch, Waimahaka Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the railway from the main line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and Toitois is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1881,” which Act is, in the fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section five of “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1881,” and by sections one hundred and sixty-six and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on that portion of the Seaward Bush Railway described in a Proclamation dated the 23rd February, 1895, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 17, of 28th February, 1895, the said point being distant about 19 chains in a north-westerly direction from the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Block IV., Toitois Survey District; proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction for a distance of about 1 mile 55 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Sections Nos. 12, 24, and 6, Block IV.; Sections Nos. 1 and 7, Block V.; and terminating at a point in said Section No. 7 distant about 10½ chains in a south-easterly direction from the south-eastern corner of said Section No. 1; all in the Toitois Survey District—including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 17826, a copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Invercargill, in the Provincial District of Otago.
